If you are in the search for a for a very cheap premium on auto insurance for a teenager, stop wasting your time because cheap insurance for such an age group does not exist. Because an car accident is the number one killer of young adults, insurance companies feel the need to give them very high premiums to compensate for this risk.
Although you can’t get around the fact that auto insurance for young adults is expensive, there are ways to lower its cost.
Make sure that the teen is written down under the policy of the parent. Premiums will be lower because the young adult is connected to a person with a stable financial situation and some history.
Enlarging the deductible (how much money you pay by yourself before the insurer pays for the rest of the repairs) is advised if you want to save on any type of insurance. But because car insurance for young drivers is really expensive (at least in the beginning), this can help you out in a big way.
The deductible is the amount of money that is paid out of pocket before the insurance company comes in and pays for the rest. When increasing your deductible, the key is to make sure that you are not exposing yourself too much.

The young driver can get a good student discount, which can save around 10% on the premium. All that the teenager needs is around a B average.
