Get out a pencil and notebook and write down the information in advance that car insurance companies are going to need in order to give you a proper quote. You will need the make / model / year of the car that you’re insuring. Stay away from the individual insurance company websites to get a quote. If you have nothing to compare your quote to, then you’ll be paying more for your insurance, than choosing a website that will compare a variety of insurance companies to come up with your quote.
Have your phone handy, because most companies will call you, and some will email you the quotes.
Don’t get upset if you feel it’s taking you too long to fill out the necessary online forms. They usually take from 10 to 20 minutes to fill out, however, if you can save from $200 – $800 a year in car insurance, then this 10 to 20 minutes of your time, then the time you spend, is well worth the savings.
